Sri M & the Walk of Hope team meet the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi

Social reformer Sri M, who is leading a pan-India padayatra to promote inter-faith harmony in the country, met President Pranab Mukherjee in the capital on 19 February 2016. At the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President interacted with the 67-year-old spiritual guide and the volunteers of his 16-month Kanyakumari-Srinagar ‘Walk of Hope’ march, and lauded the team’s effort to spread the message of peaceful coexistence that is central to India’s age-old plurality. Mr Mukherjee, during the 30-minute meeting, received the first of the Bengali translation of Sri M’s autobiography ‘Apprenticed to a Himalayan master—A Yogi’s Autobiography’ - autographed by the author. The walk will conclude after 500 days of journey in early May this year, while the Delhi leg is slated to end on March 3.
