Sri M addresses the gathering at Malik Guest House
The day started off with an early breakfast and the padayatris assembled at the Axis College auditorium for a Satsang with Sri M. The audience included Sri Raj Kushwaha, Chairman & Managing Director, Axis Group of Institutions, staff and students of Axis Colleges.
Addressing the audience Sri M said, "You must be wondering what this Sri M is. Can you guess what M stands for? M is Manav or Manushya in Sanskrit. I was born to a Muslim family and four generations earlier my ancestors came down from the north as they were called by the then Travancore king to be his bodyguard. So when I was born my parents gave me the name Mumtaz Ali Khan. All the other Khans went to Bollywood while I went to the Himalayas. And there Maheshwarnath Babaji who belongs to the nath sampradaya, when he initiated me into the tradition, he gave me the name Madhukarnath. Whatever I know comes from his blessings. Most importantly I like to be known as a human being, Manav, that's why I'm called Sri M."
After the function, many students and staff members accompanied the yatra for quite a distance.
The padayatra also stopped at the magnificent campus of Kanpur Institute of Technology, Kulgav where Sri M once again got to address the students and staff. Yatris were served among other goodies, 'makhan malai', the famous sweet delicacy of Kanpur.
The last few days have been festive, with students and the public joining the walk in hundreds, carrying giant national flags, shouting slogans and actively forming part of the yatra. Today as well, this happy pattern continued.
The walk concluded after entering Kanpur city, the biggest in the giant state of Uttar Pradesh. There was yet another reception and talk by Sri M at Malik Guest house, end point of the walk. The short public function was graced by representatives from the various religions of Kanpur, press persons and citizens apart from padayatris. In his address Sri M remarked that seeing so many religious representatives gathered at the place to welcome the yatra, he feels like the yatra is already a success.
He also interacted with media persons at length.
