Walk of Hope left the town of Gotegaon and walked from Kanjai to Jhansi Ghat, covering about 10 kilometres. This is the Walk’s last day in Narsinghpur district. Compared to the clamorous walk yesterday, this stretch was a quiet one. Even the sky was sedately and uniformly grey.

Sri M led the walk from the Narmada Sarovar lake & garden, a restored water body. The villagers have collectively worked towards building the water pond for the last many years and the result has been that the water table has risen from 60 feet to 200 ft. The area is inundated in green and the village does not face a dearth of drinking water anymore. Sri M planted a sapling in the heart of the garden and they set off from here. Continuing, they reached Jhansi Ghat – stopping at two temples in between. There were a few receptions in between and many people joined the padyaatra. It was notable that the womenfolk of Pati village came in strength, joined them and walked for a few kilometres. They sang traditional folksongs and led the march. Sri M addressed a group of about 200 people briefly on the theme of Maanav Ekta and Walk of Hope. There was a Narmada Aarti at Jhansi Ghat after which the walk concluded. The waters of Narmada river look beautiful, the river does not seem too deep as one could see the river bed. The waters are a crystalline indigo. It is sad, however, that these ghats are filthy, emitting foul odour and are clogged with items used for worship. It truly is unfortunate that there is a lack of inherent sense of reverence for greater things, for aesthetics and for beauty. Learning to leave the place as clean and pristine as nature deems, it is something one has to practice and imbibe. Walking on, Sri M and the padyaatris reached the village of Pati where the villagers had gathered to receive them. Sri M addressed them briefly, talking about Maanav Ekta and Walk of Hope.
