Sri M at the Kali Temple - Dewas
Walking from Dewas to Ujjain today, Sri M and the padyaatris covered a distance of 16 Km today. Starting off before dawn a couple of kilometres before Nagukhedi, they passed Nagukedi, walked through Singwada, Bangar, and a few other villages like Narwar before reaching the holy city of Ujjain.
The first half of the day was quiet and the second half of the day was filled with much activity. At Singwada, Sri M planted a Sapling of Hope. Moving on, they stopped at the Vidyashree Public School where there was a reception; this was also their breakfast point for the day.
As they progressed, they came upon more populated areas, although the makeup of the land continues to be predominantly rural. There was still no sign of a city but they did come across many more people. They visited the Kali temple on the Dewas-Ujjain road and the Sri Datt Mandir of Bangar on their way. The day also saw participation from many school children. They unequivocally seem to have taken a liking to carpeting the streets and showering Sri M and the padyaatris with flowers.
The walkers soon reached Ujjain and members from many different communities joined them and walked with them for a distance. Although Sri M and the Yaatris did not enter the city and stopped at the borders, the reception here was exceptional. The anticipation was that large numbers would participate in the Walk as they enter Ujjain.
Today, there were no evening programs and everyone rested for the day.
