Today, the Padayatra covered a short distance of only 3 km in Dahod town. The walk moved through narrow and constricting pathways of the town and thus blocked the traffic along the way. However, the Padayatra drew the attention of almost everyone and people looked on with curiosity, while some even joined in spontaneously. It took about two hours to cover the short distance of 3 km and reach the resting place.

The walk in the town was note-worthy. The leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community from the district joined Sri M and walked with the padayatra through the streets. There were many receptions with all communities coming forward to greet Sri M and the walkers. School children from the Nagar Seva Sadan too joined the walk for a while. This town houses a fort of which only remnants remain of the original structure. Aurangazeb, the Moghul emperor, was born in this fort. Today was the last day in Gujarat, and tomorrow the yatris cross into Madhya Pradesh - a state where they will spend almost 90 days. They will enter the 6th of 11 states in the itinerary. At this moment of transition, the charge will be passed on to the Madhya Pradesh team. For the Gujarat team, it is a bitter-sweet farewell—sweet because they are proud of a job well done and bitter because their roles are to end. The padayatris can vouch for the fact that they were well looked after in Gujarat, the co-ordinators having worked very hard over the last few weeks. Walk of Hope moves onwards towards its goal-Srinagar!
