The walk today was from Kandari to Vadodara city, covering 19 kms again today. Milestone after milestone, kilometer afterkilometer, town, village and city – the padaytris have walked through it all andhave now touched close to 3500 kilometers. They walked by townships like Bamangam, Varnama and Jambuva on the way.

A small group of people from the LGBT community joined Sri M and the walkers before Bamangam and walked with them for a few hours. They interacted with Sri M for a while. Sri M and the yatris visited the Swaminarayan shrine, which was also their breakfast point. Swaminarayan was also known as Sahajanand Swami and lived in the 18th century. As a child, he went on a pilgrimage across India adopting the name Nilkanth. He made Gujarat his residence and has a very big following from all over the world. Reaching the outskirts of Vadodara city, they were welcomed by a group of about 40 people who joined them on the walk for a shortwhile. Vadodara, known earlier as Baroda, houses the largest university – Maharaja Sayajirao University. It is known for its industries, education and has a rich cultural heritage. It is one of the important cities in Western India and plays a crucial role in Gujarat’s financial prosperity. Their stay was at the Elite Public School hostel for the duration they are in Vadodara. The day was once again quite short; reaching the school, they retired for the day, as there were no other programs scheduledin the evening.
