Much can be said of Pune. Once the power center of the Maratha Empire and currently, one of the fastest growing cities in the Asia-Pacific region, it is a hub of educational institutes, catering to all classes and all streams. It is also an important center for automobile & electrical industry—again with the upshot of migrants from all over the country and abroad homing in. The city is a mix of old world charm with beautiful old structures side-by-side with new, swanky ones! It is also an important Yoga center with the late Yoga doyen, Sri B K S Iyengar’s school attracting students from all over the world. Osho Ashram is another center attracting international attention. The city is thus an interesting fusion with the Maratha culture still preserved and strong. As the yatra walked on Palki Mahamarg after climbing the Dive Ghat, Pune revealed itself. The tea break, one of the most scenic ones so far in Maharashtra, was also one of the last subdued ones, for in the next few days, the city's noise, traffic and fast life waits impatiently to greet them in Pune. They reached Hadapsar at 11.00 am and went on to MIT College, Loni. With no Satsang scheduled for the evening, the yatris relaxed for the rest of the day. MIT Loni, also known as the Rajbaug campus is a massive campus, with ornate buildings and large open well-maintained spaces. It houses more than 20 colleges – providing both residential and day education in technical as well as in the areas of arts and business. The campus is located on the outskirts of Pune and was a quiet sanctuary to the padayatris. The highlight was the river Mula flowing through it.
