Walk of Hope entered Pune district today, the fifth of the seven districts on the route in Maharashtra. Once again, the walk was through vast open lands with nothing in sight for miles, except an occasional farm or home, with a hamlet cropping up every ten kilometers or so. In quietude, the yatris spent the morning walking the narrow road which led towards the Pune superhighway.

The walkers covered a distance of about 17 kilometers from Lonand to Nira. Awareness of the padayatra seemed to be high in this stretch known by the tremendous response with which Sri M and the yatris were greeted almost every hour. With many of the people joining in to walk with the padayatris, the numbers surged to 250 on this stretch. A troupe of musicians with three-foot-long 'Tutaris' welcomed them into Pune district and led the procession for the remainder of the day's journey. Walking thus, the yatra reached the Siddha Vinayaka Hospital around 10.30 am where the doctors and staff of the hospital welcomed Sri M and the padayatris. After refreshments and a brief rest, they left the hospital premises, to reach Nira, a small town named after the river on whose banks it stands. It being the resting place with no Satsang scheduled, the padayatris relaxed for the rest of their time there.
